| Predators
are naturally occurring insects who use pests for feeding or
multiplication. By introducing large numbers of predators in a
greenhouse they will destroy the pest. Predators are single minded and
are only interested in their particular prey. If the pest has been
destroyed they will die.
Most pests can be controlled by predators provided that the pest has
been identified in time and the environmental conditions, e.g.
temperature, are right. Commercial growers have used this method for
years already - and it works equally well for amateur gardeners.
Biological
control overcomes resistance against pesticides - is safe for grower
and consumer - is often cheaper.
Most of the predators are
harvested on request and sent directly to our customers.Predators need
to be introduced immediately. Only Nemalsug or Nemasys can be stored for
a limited time under defined conditions. - If there is a
history of pests predators should be introduced as soon as the
temperature in the tunnel is over 15°C - even if the pest is not
visible. - Because pests usually multiply much faster than predators
it is necessary to introduce several batches of predators over a period
of time to counteract growing pest numbers.
