THERMAL WEEDCONTROL ... is the only alternative between mechanical and chemical elimination of weeds. To eliminate an unwanted plant by thermal weeding means that the plant leaves are heated for about one second to up to 70° C (155° F). At this temperature the protein in the plant cells will coagulate and the plant will die. This applies for small, young plants with a weak root system. Plants with an established root system have to be heat-treated several times. Therefore the best time for thermal weed control is when weeds have just emerged.
