Up to now torches work with traditional bulbs - in which a filament is heated to create light. Heating the filament wastes 90% of the battery energy - only 10% are transformed into light. Result: after about 6 hours most torch batteries are empty and need replacement.

Not the Lightwave 2000. Its lighting technology is based on LED's ('light emitting diodes') those little crystal based lights we all know as standby indicators in radios, TVs, computers etc. The Lightwave light is a 'cool' light. Result: almost all battery energy is transformed into light.
