Calcified Seaweed (Coral) 'Lithothamnium Calcareum' is the name of the red seaweed which grows on the seabed into a white coral structure. The white colour comes from the high amount of Calcium. Beside this Calcified Seaweed contains a considerable amount of Magnesium plus a wide range of minerals and trace elements. Calcified Seaweed is an important soil improver: Calcium (CaO) helps to 'sweeten' the soil, while the minerals and trace elements stimulate the activity of the soil life. This results in: Calcified Seaweed is an essential part in a range of soil conditioning fertiliser which is used not only to adjust the pH and to 'feed' the soil microbes but at the same time to increase the levels of Phosphorus and/or Potash. These fertiliser/soil conditioner are not water-soluble. Soil bacteria will break them down in a permanent process which can last up to three years. During this period the minerals and trace elements are made available to the crop continuously. The products are finely milled for quicker availability. Average application rate: 25 kg per 200 - 400 mē SEAGREEN K: Calcified Seaweed plus Rockpotash (K 7%) Tip: Seagreen K added to the compost heap - e.g. a handful per wheelbarrow of compost material - helps to keep up Potash levels in your garden soil. HIGHLAND SLAG: Calcified Seaweed plus Rockphosphate (P: 6%) plus Rockpotash (K: 3%)
