The fresh leaves have a distinctive citrusy taste and are an ingredient in many Indian and Mexican foods. Coriander is also called Cilantro or Chinese Parsley. Leaves and seeds can be used for flavouring salads, curries, pickles and chutney.

Coriandrum sativum

Sowing instructions: Sow in spring when soil has warmed up. Sow the seed where you want the plants to grow as Coriander does not transplant well. Sow seeds in rows around 1 cm deep and then cover with soil/compost. Space rows around 35 cm apart. Sow seeds around 4 cm apart. Seeds will germinate after about two weeks.

Corainder can be grown throughout the season under glass or in a polytunnel

Growing instructions: Once the seedlings are about 4-5 cm high you can thin them to about 20 cm apart.
