Fruit Tree Grease

Fruit Tree Grease stops pests such as the Winter Moth and the Mottled Umber Moth which invade fruit trees from late October to early December. It also protects against the March Moth which invades early spring.

  • Fruit Tree Grease is easy and economical to use.
  • Simply brush-on you apple, pear, plum  or cherry trees.
  • Apply Fruit Tree Grease in autumn (September/October) and renew in February.
  • Fruit Tree Grease will trap the female, wingless adults providing a good indication to the level of infestation on each tree.

How to apply Fruit Tree Grease

  • Fruit Tree Grease will provide a complete barrier if applied completely around the base of the tree, approximately 45cm above ground level.
  • For tree grease to be fully effective a complete barrier must be formed. Choose a suitable position on the trunk at least 45cm above ground level but below the lowest branch and remove any loose bark. Using a stiff brush or spatula, form a ring approximately 10cm wide around the girth of the tree making sure that the tree grease is worked into any cracks or crevices.
  • Replenish if necessary to maintain stickiness.
  • Trees with fissured bark: apply Fruit Tree Grease directly onto the bark.
  • The Fruit Tree Grease needs to be kept sticky and free of debris from late October until April
  • The grease should also be applied to neighbouring trees if an infestation is found.

Fruit Tree Grease contains Rape Seed Oil along with Castor Oil and natural preservatives
