Tree Ties

Soft and durable fabric for tying trees onto stakes. Our tree tie fabric comes on a roll of 50 mt and can be quickly cut to the desired size. Very soft fabric will not damage the tree bark

• Staking newly planted trees is necessary to prevent wind rock and movement of the roots. Movement can tear new roots, slowing down establishment.
• A newly planted tree will take a couple of years to anchor itself firmly in the soil.
• The stake should be driven into the ground by at least 25% of its length to ensure it can support a tree when under strain. The height should be at least a metre
• Check ties regularly to make sure they are not too tight.
• Staking should only be necessary for the first two years of a trees life.  By that time the tree should have been able to build up its natural strength helping it not get blown over on windy days or from unexpected knocks (deer will often rub against tress with their antlers).
• If permanently staked the energy of the tree is put into growing upwards making it a liable to fall over.
