Resistant to mildew!
Character: Santero onions are a high yielding 'Rijnsburger' type, copper brown, oval-to-round bulbs, that have strong skins and store well

Plant onion sets in rows in any firm, well drained soil in full sun. Prepare the planting area several weeks in advance by incorporating some well rotted garden compost to improve drainage and soil fertility. Avoid planting onions on freshly manured soil.
Plant the bulbs so that the tip of bulb is just protruding through the soil surface. Leave a space of 10cm between each bulb, and 30cm between each row.
On particularly wet ground, try growing onion sets in raised beds.
How many sets do I get?
- 250g = approx. 60- 80 sets
- 1kg = approx. 250 to 300 sets
Sets are heat treated to reduce bolting.
