Organic Allium 'Sphaerocephalon' Bulbs
Allium 'Sphaerocephalon' have dense heads of purple-crimson 'drumsticks'. The flowers open green, then start to turn purple from the top, creating unusual two-tone flower heads. Their attractive curled green leaves will wither before the flowers appear in summer so they are best planted with ornamental grasses or low growing perennials. Looks good with 'Lady's Mantel'.
Very good for mass planting, prefers light, free-draining soil. Will flower later than other alliums in July and August. Long lasting blooms. RHS award of Garden Merit, attracts bees and will naturalize if left undisturbed.
