Installing Wind Break Netting

As wind break netting absorbs a lot of force from the wind it is very important to have it secured to a solid structure. This is especially true of the taller sizes which create a large surface area. Timber posts are commonly used and should be at least 3" (75mm) in diameter and secured with concrete ideally. The closer the posts are together the stronger the wind block will be. Closer spacings also insure that the net wont get droopy between the posts. Galvanised wire can be fixed to the posts and threaded through the reinforced eyelets on the edges of the net. Consider leaving a gap at the bottom of the wind break - this will increase the overall height whilst allowing some wind to escape through the bottom reducing the pressure on the posts.
