Pest and Disease Deterrents

Pest and Disease Deterrents

It has been known for centuries that many plants naturally produce substances which help to develop a  resistance to certain pests and diseases. Nasturtiums for example are never attacked by Greenfly. Rocket or Leaf Mustard are equally safe from attacks by sucking insects. And there are many more defence techniques plants use.

The Dutch company Pireco® has over the last 20 years developed a range of products which support plants naturally in their struggle against pest and diseases. The Pireco® products are made from a highly concentrated blend of herbal extracts on the basis of water. They are environmentally friendly, break down in the soil and leave no residues behind.  These100% natural product are biostimulants. Biostimulants ensure healthy, disease resistant plants and the plants are indirectly protected from stress, pests and diseases.

The products have a low risk profile which means the effects of exposure to the product are negligible. When absorbed after watering or spraying the active elements in Pireco® products will increase the plant resistance and will develop the defence system, which is a self-induced system, thus a natural weapon against attacks by aggressors, like fungal diseases and pests. On top of that, due to the slight aroma change of the leaf and root cells, insects are not attracted to the plant any more. The growth of the plants is stimulated and the plants will be stonger and healthier. Research has shown that Pireco products will give a good economic return.
