Climbing French Bean 'Cobra'
'Cobra' is a high yielding climbing french bean with round pods of excellent flavour. This early variety is very easy to grow, with good resistance to mosaic virus and Ascochyta. It is suitable for greenhouse or outdoor growing - and is well suited as an indoor crop in commercial settings. Each packet contains approximately 40 organic seeds. More details below.
Organic 'Cobra' Climbing French Bean
Growing schedule: Sow under cover from early May or in situ from late May (once all risk of frost has passed) until June.
Sowing depth: 2-3cm
Planting distance: 8-10cm between plants; 40-60cm between rows
Growing conditions: Climbing beans need a support structure to grow against. They thrive in a sunny, sheltered spot away from strong winds and prefer fairly light, moist, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter.
Crop rotation: ‘Cobra’ should be grouped in planting rotation plans with other members of the Fabaceae (bean) family.
Harvest: This is a long season variety; regular picking will keep the beans producing up to first frost.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 40 organic seeds, enough for 30 plants.
