Viper's Bugloss (Echium vulgare) Seed

An attractive Irish wildflower which grows to 80cm in height. Viper's Bugloss has been bred into ornamental varieties. However, this is seed gathered from native Irish origin stock.

  • Planting: Bare cultivated soil, after casting, firm in or lightly rake
  • Sow direct in Spring or late Autumn
  • Seeding Rate: 1g per m²
  • Biennial
  • Nectar rich flower much loved by insects
  • Known to attract the Painted Lady butterfly
  • Can be toxic to horses
  • Seed best sown directly in-situ as it can be difficult to transplant without damagin its taproots
