Organic Californian Poppy (Eschscholtzia californica) Seeds
Characteristics:
- Annual
- Yellow and orange flowers
- Height: 30-50cm
- Note: all parts of the plant are poisonous.
Growing schedule: Sow direct outside from March to June for flowering in June to September. Poppy seedlings don’t like being transplanted so sow them where they are to grow. Seeds can also be sown from August to September for an earlier flowering the following year.
Sowing depth: Cover with only a thin layer of soil (as poppy seeds need light to germinate) and keep moist.
Planting distance: 20 x 20cm
Growing conditions: Californian poppies need a sunny site; the flowers only open fully in direct sunlight. Poppies do well in poor soil and it must be well-drained with a sandy or loamy quality for them to thrive. They have good drought resistance.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 140 organic seeds, enough for 100 plants.
