Organic Echinacea Flower (Echinacea purpurea) Seeds
Characteristics:
- Perennial
- Pink-purple flowers
- Height: 60-120cm
Growing schedule: Sow in August to September for flowering the following year. Seeds sown early enough in spring may flower the same year.
Sowing depth: Cover with only a thin layer of soil (as Echinacea seeds need light to germinate) and keep moist.
Germination: Echinacea may benefit from a period of cold stratification to aid germination. Mix seeds with a small quantity of damp sand or compost, place in a plastic bag and leave in the fridge for four to six weeks before sowing.
Planting distance: 30 x 45cm
Growing conditions: Echinacea purpurea prefers full sun and moist, well-draining soils.
Ongoing care: If the base of the plant becomes overcrowded, plants can be divided. From late autumn to early spring, while the plant is dormant, gently dig up the roots, divide them into several pieces and replant them as separate plants.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 50 organic seeds.
