English Lavender
Lavender is a well known perennial plant that produces highly scented purple flowers. It is beneficial for bees and other pollinators, as well as being used in cooking, herbal remedies and essential oils. Lavandula angustifolia is the preferred variety for medicinal use and also for its scent. Each packet contains approximately 200 organic seeds. More details below.
Organic English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) Seeds
Characteristics:
- Perennial
- Height: 40 - 60cm
- Flowering: purple flowers from the second year onwards
Growing schedule: Sow indoors from February to May. Lavender does best started in modules or small pots.
Sowing depth: Cover with only a very fine layer of soil or vermiculite as lavender seeds require light to germinate.
Germination: Seed needs 21°C to 25°C to germinate and can take 3 or 4 weeks.
Planting distance: 25 x 25cm
Growing conditions: Lavender prefers full sun and well-draining, chalky soil.
Ongoing care: Plants can be pruned every year from the second year to keep stalks fresh and young.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 200 organic seeds.
