Cabbage 'Filderkraut'
‘Filderkraut’ is a pointed mid season cabbage with soft green leaves. Heads are large and rich in sugars. This variety is specifically bred for sauerkraut production and also is delicious raw. This variety grows well outdoors throughout the season and has good resistance to splitting. Each packet contains approximately 40 organic seeds. More details below.

Growing schedule: Sow in modules from February for transplanting outdoors (after hardening off) from April. Direct sow March and April
Sowing depth: 1cm
Germination: Cabbage will germinate between 7-29°C, with 15-20°C the optimal temperature range.
Planting distance: 50 x 40 cm
Growing conditions: Cabbage grows best in full sun but can tolerate some light shade. It prefers fertile, moist, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Cabbage can tolerate a slightly alkaline pH - add lime to particularly acidic soil, especially where clubroot might be an issue.
Crop rotation: Cabbage is a brassica and should be grouped in planting rotation plans with other members of the Brassicaceae family such as kale, broccoli, kohlrabi, rocket, turnip, mustard leaf and radish.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 40 organic seeds, enough for 30 plants.
