Radicchio 'Palla Rossa'

Radicchio is a bitter-tasting leaf vegetable commonly used in Italian cuisine. 'Palla Rossa' forms dense round heads of vibrant red leaves ribbed with bright white stems. It is a high-yielding variety with good resistance to internal rot. Each packet contains 1.25g of organic seed. More details below.

Organic Radicchio 'Palla Rossa' Seeds

Growing schedule: Sow in modules from mid-June to July and plant the seedlings outside after around four weeks. Harvest from September to November. Can be sow inside from September for an overwintering crop

Sowing depth: 1cm

Planting distance: 30 x 40cm

Germination: The ideal germination temperature is 20-25°C.

Growing conditions: Radicchio prefer fertile, moist, well-draining soil but can do well in most soil types. It can tolerate cold weather and early light frost but should be harvested before the onset of heavy frosts.

Harvest: Young leaves can be harvested as needed or the entire head harvested once mature after 80-90 days.

Number of seeds: Each packet contains 1.25g of organic seed.
