Organic 'Till' Loose leaf Lettuce Seeds
Growing schedule: Sow under cover from mid-February for growing indoors; or from April to July for outdoor cultivation. For a late crop, sow in late summer and grow on indoors. Sow successively for continuous cropping.
Sowing depth: Cover with only a thin layer of soil as lettuce seeds need light to germinate.
Germination: Ideal germination temperature is 10-15 °C, max. 18 °C.
Planting distances: Space plants 25 x 25 cm apart in a greenhouse or polytunnel; in open ground ca. 30 x 30 cm.
Growing conditions: Lettuce doesn’t do well in high temperatures – it enjoys full sun, but may benefit from partial shade in the hotter months of the year. It grows best in moist, well-draining soil.
Harvest: Cut at 10cm high for baby leaf or allow to grow. For ‘cut-and-come-again’ salad leaves, pick the outer leaves and the plant will continue to grow from the centre.
Number of Seeds: Each packet contains approximately 170 organic seeds, enough for 120 plants.
