French Bean 'Purple Queen'

‘Purple Queen’ is a second-early bush bean variety with purple pods that turn a deep green when cooked. The bean pods are stringless and they grow above the leaves, making for easy harvesting. Each packet contains 50g of organic seed. More details below.

Organic ‘Purple Queen’ Bean Seeds

Growing schedule: Sow under cover from early April or in situ from late May (once all risk of frost has passed) until mid-July.

Sowing depth: 2-3cm

Planting distance: 8-10cm between plants; 40-60cm between rows

Growing conditions: French beans prefer full sun and fairly light, moist, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter.

Crop rotation: ‘Purple Queen' should be grouped in planting rotation plans with other members of the Fabaceae (bean) family.

Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 50g seeds
