Swede 'Wilhelmsberger'
This variety of swede has a green top with firm yellow flesh. Swede is a valuable winter vegetable. Wilhelmsberger is high yielding and can survive low temperatures. Excellent keeping quality. Each pack contains 2.5g of organic seed. More details below.
Organic 'Wilhelmsberger' Swede Seed
Growing schedule: Sow direct outdoors from April to mid-June.
Sowing depth: 1cm
Germination: Swede will germinate between 7-29°C, with 15-20°C the optimal temperature range.
Planting distance: 50 x 50 cm
Growing conditions: Swede grows best in full sun but can tolerate some light shade. It prefers fertile, moist, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Harvest from September on but will overwinter well outside, especially if earthed up.
Crop rotation: Swede is a brassica and should be grouped in planting rotation plans with other members of the Brassicaceae family such as kale, broccoli, kohlrabi, rocket, turnip, mustard leaf and radish.
Number of seeds: Each pack contains 2.5g of organic seed.
