Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) is a fast growing, strong summer flower with yellow-orange, thistle-like flowers that are very attractive to bees. It is suitable for professional flower growers and can also be used as a dried flower. Each packet contains approximately 28 organic seeds. More details below.

Flower size: around 3 cm in diameter

Height: up to 80 cm

Growing schedule: Sow safflower seeds from March to April under cover for early flowers. Sow direct outside between mid-April and mid-June.

Sowing depth: 1 cm

Planting distance: 20 x 40cm

Growing conditions: Safflowers need moist soil and a sunny place in the garden.

Ongoing care: Protect from slugs. Suitable for cut flowers.  May be dried
