Fulvic 25 Chelating Agent

Price From €9.75

Natural soluble chelating agent containing fulvic and humic substances. Fulvic acids form complexes with elements like iron, manganese and zinc increasing their availability to plants. Useful when pH is high and these nutrients are locked up in the soil. Approved for use in organic agriculture. More details below.

Chelating Agent

Fulvic 25 is a natural soluble chelating agent. It contains fulvic (17%) and humic (3%) substances which act as a biostimulant to enhance root and shoot development as well as the nutrient uptake of plants. It is derived from Dutch groundwater which is extracted from a depth of 300m. In the process of making the water potable, fulvic and humic substances are removed using a non chemical and foodgrade process.

  • Makes minerals that are locked up in the soil available to plants by chelation.
  • Can be mixed with foliar feeds to increase nutrient uptake.
  • Stimulates soil life.
  • Stimulates enzymatic processes within plants which increases photosynthesis and promotes more tolerance to abiotic stress.
  • Approved for use in organic agrictulture.

Chelated Nutrients

The word 'chelate' is derived from the Greek word for 'claw'. When talking about plant nutrients or fertilizers it refers to when inorganic nutrients become enclosed or 'coated' in organic molecules. Unlike the inorganic nutrient, these organic coatings are taken up by the plant readily and the enclosed nutrient, for example an iron or zinc molecule, is then released inside the plant.

Chelates help mitigate against nutrient uptake problems in alkaline soils. If soil pH is high, iron, manganese, zinc and copper become insoluble and unavailable to plants. However, if they are chelated the plant can take up the nutrient.
