Natural Exterior Wood Stain

A natural transparent wood stain which is decorative and weather resistant. Suitable for all exterior wooden surfaces which are not being walked on. Kaldet 281 reinforces and deepens the natural colour of the wood grain. After 3 coats the surface is rendered water-repellent and weather resistant. Gives a protective surface layer without penetrating deep into the wood. As such, it is necessary to prime with Adao 259 Natural Exterior Primer. Ingredients - Depending on the colour: Isoaliphates, linseed oil - stand oil – natural resin ester, wood oil, castor oil – natural resin ester, linseed oil, wood oil - stand oil, linseed oil - stand oil, linseed oil - wood oil - stand oil, mineral pigments, micronized wax, silicic acid, dehydrated amino sugar, soy lecithin, titan dioxide, orange oil, and  drying agents free of lead (Ca, Co, Zr, Zn).

Applying your Exterior Wood Stain

Coverage - 1 litre is sufficient for approximately 15 to 30 m²  per coat, i.e. 44ml/m². Coverage could be considerably less depending on the condition and the absorbency of the wood. A test application always helps.

Preparation -  Surface must be dry (wood moisture content below 15%), solid, finely sanded (180 grain), absorbent, and free of resin and dust. The timber should be primed with Adao 259 Natural Exterior Primer.

Application method - Apply by brush at temperatures above 12 °C and in dry conditions. 3 applications are required for full colour and protection. At 23°C and 50 % relative humidity, drying takes between 12 to 24 hours. Subsequent coats can be applied after approximately 24 hours. At higher temperatures, consider shorter drying times, at lower temperatures and higher humidity, please consider longer drying times as given above.
