Papaver rhoeas is the classic field poppy with vibrant red flowers. Poppies bring colour to gardens and meadows and provide nectar for bees and other pollinators. They self-seed readily. The flowers make a lovely addition to a bouquet, while the seed pods work well in dried flower arrangements. Each packet contains approximately 2000 organic seeds, enough for 1500 plants. Organic Field Poppy (Papaver rhoeas) Seeds
Characteristics:

- Note: all parts of the plant are poisonous.
Growing schedule: Sow direct outside from March to May for flowering in June to September. Poppy seedlings don’t like being transplanted so sow them where they are to grow. Seeds can also be sown from August to September for an earlier flowering the following year.
Sowing depth: Cover with only a thin layer of soil (as poppy seeds need light to germinate) and keep moist.
Planting distance: 20 x 25cm
Growing conditions: Poppies need a sunny site; the flowers only open fully in direct sunlight. They do well in fertile, well-drained soil with a sandy or loamy quality. They have good drought resistance.
