Growing schedule: For growing outdoors, sow kale seeds from April to June. Kale can also be sown in late summer for growing on indoors - plants can then be harvested as baby leaf kale or left to come to maturity in early spring. Seed can be sown direct or in modules - but modules should not be allowed to become root-bound.

Sowing depth: 1 cm

Planting distance: 75 x 45 cm

Growing conditions: Kale thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. It does well in deep, fertile, moist, well-draining soil with an optimum pH of 6.5 to 7.

Crop rotation: Kale is a brassica and should be grouped in planting rotation plans with other members of the Brassicaceae family such as cabbage, mustard, broccoli, kohlrabi, rocket, turnip and radish.

Harvest: Pick leaves as required and allow the plant to continue to grow.

Number of seeds: Each packet contains 1.25g of organic seed.
