Growing schedule: Sow under cover from February or direct outside from April to August. Sowings in September and October can successfully overwinter indoors and be harvested from late autumn through to spring. Sow indoors in the winter months for an early crop the following spring. Sow successively for continuous cropping.

Sowing depth: 1cm

Planting distance: Space plants 25 x 25 cm apart.

Growing conditions: Leaf mustard is a cool-weather plant and can tend to bolt and turn bitter in hot, dry conditions so keep it well watered over the summer months. It does well in full sun or partial shade and can tolerate most soil types but prefers relatively fertile, moist, well-draining soil.

Crop rotation: Mustard leaf is a brassica and should be grouped in planting rotation plans with other members of the brassicaceae family such as cabbage, kale, broccoli, kohlrabi, rocket, turnip and radish.

Harvest: Plants can reach maturity in approximately 45 days from sowing, depending on the conditions. For baby leaf salad, harvest can begin from three weeks.

Number of seeds: Each packet contains 2.5g of organic seed.
