Radicchio 'Sugarloaf' Zuckerhut
Radicchio is a bitter leaf vegetable traditionally used in Italian cooking. 'Zuckerhut' is a self-blanching green variety which grows into firm upright cylindrical heads. It has a nutty, spicy and only slightly bitter flavour with a delicate sweet blanched heart. This variety stores well and firm mature heads can last till January.

Organic Radicchio 'Zuckerhut' (Sugarloaf) Seeds
Growing schedule: Sow in modules from mid-June to July and plant the seedlings outside after around four weeks. Harvest from September to November.
Sowing depth: 1cm
Planting distance: 30 x 40cm
Germination: The ideal germination temperature is 20-25°C.
Growing conditions: Radicchio prefers fertile, moist, well-draining soil but can do well in most soil types. It can tolerate cold weather and early light frost but should be harvested before the onset of heavy frosts.
Harvest: Young leaves can be harvested as needed or the entire head harvested once mature.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 190 seeds, enough for 150 plants.
