Organic Artichoke 'Imperial Star' Seeds

Growing schedule: Sow indoors in modules or small pots from February to May. Usually artichokes will be ready to harvest from the following year but they may come into flower the same year when sown very early.

Sowing depth: 5cm

Planting distance: 100cm between plants; 100cm between rows

Growing conditions: Artichokes prefer a warm, sheltered spot in full sun. They will do best in moderately fertile, well draining soil.

Ongoing care: Artichokes can grow up to 2m and may need support.

Harvest: Pick artichokes for consumption when the flower head has developed but before it has opened. If left to open, it produces a striking pink flower akin to a thistle.

Number of seeds: Each pack contains 1.25g, approximately 30 organic seeds.
