Organic Swede 'Tipperary Turnip' seeds
Growing schedule: Sow direct outdoors from April to May.
Sowing depth: 1cm
Germination: Swede will germinate between 7-29°C, with 15-20°C the optimal temperature range.
Planting distance: 50 x 50 cm
Growing conditions: Swede grows best in full sun but can tolerate some light shade. It prefers fertile, moist, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Harvest from September on but will overwinter well outside.
Crop rotation: Swede is a brassica and should be grouped in planting rotation plans with other members of the Brassicaceae family such as kale, broccoli, kohlrabi, rocket, turnip, mustard leaf and radish.
