'Blue Kuri' is a Japanese trailing pumpkin variety with grey blue skin and tasty orange flesh. Each plant produces 4-5 fruits, each one between 1-2kg. This variety stores exceptionally well. Each pack contains approximately 10 organic seeds. More details below.


Organic Pumpkin 'Blue Kuri' Seed

Sowing schedule: Sow under cover in pots from April to June and plant out after all risk of frost has passed. Sow direct outside from mid-May to early June.

Sowing depth: Sow seeds around 2-3cm deep. Sowing on their edge rather than flat may improve germination.

Germination: Pumpkin seeds will germinate best at temperatures above 20 °C.

Planting distance: Each plant needs 1m².

Growing conditions: Pumpkin plants prefer full sun and fertile, moist, well-draining soil. Add plenty of manure.

Harvest: ‘Blue Kuri’ pumpkins reach maturity after around 100 days. Harvest before the first frost, in September or October.

Storage: This variety can be stored for up to six months after harvesting. Store in a dark place at 10-15°C.

Number of seeds: Each pack contains approximately 10 organic seeds, enough for 7 plants.
