Rudbeckia hirta produces glowing golden flowers on long stalks. Flowers bloom in late summer, bringing colour to both garden borders and bouquets. Growing schedule: Sow under cover from March for planting outside after all risk of frost has passed. Sow direct outdoors from May after soil temperatures have warmed up and all risk of frost has passed.

Planting distance: 40 x 40cm
Growing conditions: Rudbeckia hirta will tolerate some light shade but it will flower more in full sun. It prefers fertile, moist soil and should not be allowed to dry out.
Ongoing care: Remove dead flower heads to encourage further blooming.
Harvest: For cut flowers, wait to harvest blooms until they have opened completely.
