Basil
Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is a classic culinary herb. Often associated with Italian cuisine, it can be used for pesto, sauces or as a fresh aromatic garnish. This variety has medium-sized leaves with an excellent aroma. Each packet contains approximately 900 organic seeds. More details below.
Organic Basil Seeds

Growing schedule: Sow under cover from April to June. Basil seedlings can be planted outside once temperatures have warmed up and all risk of frost has passed - but they will do far better in a polytunnel or on a warm windowsill inside.
Sowing depth: 3-5mm
Germination: Basil seeds need warmth to germinate – at least 18°C but preferably from 21-24°C.
Planting distance: 30 x 20 cm
Growing conditions: Basil requires warmth, full sun and moist, rich, well-draining soil.
Harvest: Once plants are mature, pick leaves as needed, always leaving the two lowest true leaves so that the plant can continue to grow.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 900 organic seeds, enough for 10m².
