Organic 'Lucinde' Butterhead Lettuce Seed
Growing schedule: Sow in seed trays from January for growing on indoors or from March to mid-July for outdoor cultivation.
Sowing depth: Cover with only a thin layer of soil as lettuce seeds need light to germinate.
Planting distance: Space plants 25 x 25 cm apart in a greenhouse or polytunnel; in open ground ca. 30 x 30 cm.
Germination: Ideal germination temperature is 10-15 °C, max. 18 °C.
Growing conditions: Lettuce doesn’t do well in high temperatures – it enjoys full sun, but may benefit from partial shade in the hotter months of the year. It grows best in moist, well-draining soil.
Harvest: For ‘cut-and-come-again’ salad leaves, pick the outer leaves and the plant will continue to grow from the centre.
Number of seeds: Each packet contains approximately 160 seeds, enough for 100 plants.
