Organic Coriander Seed for Microgreens
How to prepare and grow Coriander microgreens from seed:
- Soak the seeds for 8-12 hours.
- Rinse and drain the seeds well.
- Sprinkle the soaked seeds over a tray of compost and press down gently.
- It is advisable to use a micro biologically tested compost such as Klansman’s Peat Free Seed Compost to ensure there is no ecoli present.
- Cover the coriander seeds with a fine layer of compost.
- Keep the compost moist but don’t overdo it - coriander is very vulnerable to over-watering. You should see signs of germination after several days.
Using your Coriander microgreens in the kitchen
Coriander microgreens have exactly the same taste as coriander proper! They also have the advantage of not running to seed as they never grow large enough. These lovely leaves make a fantastic garnish to any Asian dish and can pep up any salad – just don’t overdo it! Very good with guacamole or in salsa.
