Organic Maize Seed for Sprouting
How to grow corn (Zea mays) microgreens from seed:
- Soak the seeds for 8 hours.
- sow 90 - 110 g per microgreen tray
- or 20 - 30g per small seed tray
- Sprinkle the seed over your tray of compost and press down gently.
- Cover with a fine layer of compost.
- It is advisable to use a micro biologically tested compost such as Klasmann Peat Free Seed Compost to ensure there is no pathogens present.
- Keep the compost moist – be careful not to over water though!
- Keep in the dark to produce super sweet shoots. Exposure to light will cause corn microgreens to turn green, develop fibers and become bitter.
- Harvest after 7 days before fibrous leavest start to develop.
