How to grow corn (Zea mays) microgreens from seed:

  • Soak the seeds for 8 hours.
  • Sprinkle the seed over a tray of compost and press down gently.
  • Cover with a fine layer of compost.
  • It is advisable to use a micro biologically tested compost such as Klasmann Peat Free Seed Compost to ensure there is no pathogens present.
  • Keep the compost moist – be careful not to over water though!
  • Keep in the dark to produce super sweet shoots. Exposure to light will cause corn microgreens to turn green, develop fibers and become bitter.
  • Harvest after 7 days before fibrous leavest start to develop.
