Fruit Hill Farm Staff's Favourite Tools
We asked the team to share their favourite gardening tool and explain why they love it. Scythe
This Austrian scythe features a lightweight wooden snath and can be fitted with a range of blades suited to clearing and mowing.

Onion Hoe
The Glaser Onion Hoe is lovely light hoe with very sharp blade. Very effective at loosening soil and slicing through weeds. The angled blade makes it easier to get in between crops without disturbing the roots.

Glaser Oscillating Hoe
The hoe works parallel to the ground to slice weeds just beneath the soil surface and the double edged blade works in both directions making it an extremely fast and effective tool.

Terrateck Wire Weeder
This hoe uses a round wire to eliminate weeds which are at the cotyledon stage. The gentler action of the round wire allows weeding these freshly germinated weeds right up close to the crop which may also be at a young delicate stage.

SHW Clearing Pick
A very strong and powerful tool. Ideal for loosening compact ground or rocks with the point and then quickly digging with the broad flat side. It works as a cross between a regular pick axe and a mattock.
