Dubron Natural Emulsion

Indoor walls and ceilings account for the largest area of paint coverage in our homes. As such, it is a good place to start when trying to create a healthier environment within them. Dubron is a high quality emulsion which is solvent free. This chalk and soya oil based paint is a longstanding product of Livos. Its strong creamy consistency gives it a low tendency to drip or splash and when dry it allows walls to breath. The chalk finish also contributes to the sanitation of the air due to its natural antifungal properties

Due to the addition of beeswax and natural resins, Dubron also has an anti-static effect. This gives the paint the quality of repelling dust and dirt, and to remain brighter for a longer time. The soft white base colour can be tinted to a variety of shades (see below) with colouring pastes that are based on earth, plant and mineral substances. For creative types, beautiful effects can be achieved by sponging and other staining techniques.

Application

Dubron natural emulsion is ideal for a range of interior surfaces such as plaster, masonry, gypsum plasterboard, clay plaster and walls which have already been painted with other emulsion paint.

Before starting:

  • If mould is an issue the area should be treated with Livos’ Mould Remover before painting.
  • For walls that are highly absorbent it's best to prime first with Grava Natural Primer.
  • Cracks and small holes can also be filled beforehand using a Natural Wall Filler.
  • The surface needs to be clean, dry and free of any deposits which may interfere with the absorption of the paint.
  • Stir thoroughly before use.

Dubron can be applied with a roller, brush or sprayer. 1 litre has an average cover of 8m² per coating. However, this may turn out to be less or more depending on the absorbency of your wall. If tackling a large area, it is advisable to determine how much you need with a test patch. This will avoid being left short or buying too much paint. Brushes and rollers can be easily cleaned afterwords with warm water and Latis Natural Tool Cleaner to remove resins and dirt which have accumulated. The paint is virtually odourless and, in normal conditions, dry enough in about 24 hours to apply another coat if necessary.

The buckets are easily cleaned after use and if you have no need for them they are recyclable.

Colouring the Paint

Livos provide a range of Colouring Pastes which can be mixed with all their emulsion paints. A range of colours are available which are manufactured by mixing earth and mineral pigments with plant extracts. Depending on the ratio of the mix, a range from a light tint, pastel or strong rich tones can be achieved. It is also possible to mix different colours to create a unique colour blend.
