    If you have a polytunnel you will know how long it takes to water your produce.  Why not install an irrigation system and free up all that time that you spend watering? Drip Irrigation Perhaps the easiest and most cost-effective way to water your crops is with a drip irrigation system where pipes are laid along the ground and water seeps out of spaced holes directly where your plants need the moisture.  For as little as approx. €85 you could irrigate an 8 mt tunnel.  You can also add to or change the layout of your system whenever you wish.   • Cleaning your greenhouse or polytunnel: equipment and methods

    Cleaning the polytunnel and your pots Not the most popular of tasks but one that must be faced to avoid pests and diseases later.  All plant pots, seed trays, propagation trays and tools should be well and truly cleaned.  Don’t brush over this advice because you think they are going to “get dirty” anyway.  Pots that are dirty can contain pests, bacteria, and fungus that can harm your plants before they even get started.  Same is true for your glasshouse or polytunnel.  As well as letting in extra light you will get rid of all the overwintering red spider
  • Growing potatoes in a greenhouse or polytunnel for a very early crop

    Potatoes can be planted at any time of year, provided you keep them free from frost. If you have a polytunnel or greenhouse then you can plant them in December or January and have very early potatoes on the table in March and April (early varieties take around 80 to 100 days before they are ready. If you have enough space, the seed potatoes can be planted in beds, just as you would outside. Another way to grow them is in large containers or grow bags.
